BASIC FUNCTION AND SCOPE (SUMMARY)

Assist the Avionics Supervisor to accomplish aviation unit and intermediate maintenance

inspections services.


QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Qualification:

  • High School Completion of a formal avionics training course from an accredited military
  • or civilian aeronautical school.
  • Knowledgeable on The Army Maintenance Management System (TAMMS) preferable.


EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum of 5 Years Must have a minimum of 5 years working with rotary aircraft
  • powertrain systems and subsystems.


LANGUAGE SKILLS

  • Must be able to read, write and understand English.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Repairs, replaces, and performs operational/functional tests on instruments, radios, navigation and aircraft flight control equipment, stabilization systems, avionics systems.
  • Troubleshoots equipment and traces avionic equipment wiring harnesses using technical manuals and schematic drawings to diagnose and isolate faults and effect repairs.
  • Diagnose malfunctions using special and common hand tools, test measurement and diagnostic equipment.
  • Requisition aircraft parts, and maintain shop and bench stock for repair of aircraft avionics equipment.
  • Inspects and prepares forms and records in accordance with DA PAM 738-751.
  • Train host national personnel on the proper maintenance of the avionics/instrument systems.
  • Responsible for tools and equipment inventory assigned by the supervisor.
  • Responsible for replacing electronic parts on PCB level using soldering / resoldering technics.

  • None.

  • Reports to Supervisor


COMMUNICATIONS

  • Must be able to communicate well with others, instill a teamwork mentality, and lead by example.


OTHER FACTORS

  • Must have good knowledge of Special Operations mission requirements, equipment
  • and maintenance programs.
  • Must have strong program management background with a good understanding of
  • contract law and terminology used in aviation contracts.
  • Must have a good working knowledge of all computer applications.
  • Must have strong charismatic and delegating attributes.
  • Must work well with other departments.
